This piece is made in Japan using traditional Kutani-yaki techniques, in the distinct Yoshidaya style. Yoshidaya refers to a kiln that operated in the early 1800s (Edo period) and was known for its bright, vivid colours — especially yellow, green, blue, and purple — often used in nature scenes.
The bluebird in Japanese symbolism often represents happiness, hope, and good news, while cherry blossoms remind us to appreciate fleeting beauty and fresh beginnings. Together, they make this mug feel like a breath of spring.
