The teapot has fine hand-painted blue lines on natural beige clay, giving it a fresh, modern look while still keeping the warmth of traditional Japanese pottery. Each one is brushed by hand, so the lines are all slightly different - making every teapot unique.

About Tokoname-ware (常滑焼)

Tokoname ware (Tokoname-yaki) comes from Aichi Prefecture and is one of Japan’s oldest pottery styles, made for over 900 years. It’s known for its rich red and natural clay colours and is especially loved for teapots (kyusu) that bring out the flavour and aroma of Japanese tea. The fine clay and careful handcrafting make each teapot smooth to pour and great at holding heat.

Care

Handwash only and allow to air dry completely. Avoid detergent to preserve the clay’s natural properties.
