Shaped like a tiny soup dumpling 🥟🤍
Known in Japanese as shōronpō (小籠包), soup dumplings originally come from Shanghai, China. They are loved across Japan too, especially in casual dining and street food culture.
This little dumpling has a glossy finish, with fine kannyu (crazing) that may appear on the surface - delicate crack-like lines that are a natural part of ceramics and add character to each piece. You might also notice tiny black spots; these are not defects, but natural specks in the clay.
About Ihoshiro Kiln
Ihoshiro Kiln is a small ceramics studio in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture. They create creative and charming chopstick rests with a focus on “feelings and hands,” believing that the care of the maker can be felt in every piece.
The name “Ihoshiro” (五百代窯) comes from the historic name of the area and carries a wish for the kiln to continue for many years. From the beginning, their goal has been “to create pottery that makes the heart flutter.”
Each piece is carefully made by hand, one by one. Because ceramic production uses a lot of energy, the kiln has also installed solar power to support more sustainable craftsmanship.

Handwash gently and dry thoroughly after use.
---------------------------------------------
We do our best to capture our products as accurately as possible, but colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Each piece is hand-painted by skilled artisans, making every item unique. The patterns and details may differ slightly, adding to the charm and individuality of your piece. We hope you’ll appreciate these subtle variations as part of its handmade beauty!
Due to the nature of pottery, there may be differences in colour, size, weight, etc., depending on the kiln and temperature conditions.
This product may have glaze drips (traces of glaze that have been applied to the vessel) or uneven colouring. This is normal and part of what makes each piece unique.
The surface of the pottery may show fine crack-like lines called “kannyu” (crazing), which is a natural characteristic of ceramics. Some pieces may not show this pattern at first, but it can slowly appear over time, and the lines may become more visible.
Please understand that this is a natural feature of the glaze and not a defect.

After ordering the beautiful little teapot and using it everyday since receiving, I tend to look for your other items.
After seeing the beige salad serving or eating sized plates I decided to buy them.
I am not at all disappointed in my new plates.
We use them most days and it makes a meal look that extra luxurious.
great mug and great service
A good size cup for when I fancy a tisane, rather than green tea.
This is a lovely little bowl. Not sure what I'll use it for just yet, but the cat is so sweet
This matches the tea cup.... you can't have one without the other :)
